My Top 5: Disney Films

Hey there,

I felt like it was time to introduce a new series to my little slice of the Internet. I've read posts by my favourite bloggers from this series before, so in no way is this an original idea, but I must admit I was definitely inspired! Last month, I shared with you a sneak-peak of my Top 5 Christmas films in my Blogmas series, which you can catch up on here and there's no better way to spark off this series than with my Disney favourites!

No matter what age, they'll always be a place in your heart for some light-hearted Disney magic - especially when it's bitter cold outside!

1) Frozen

Judge me all you want, but Frozen is definitely in my Top 5 for Disney films. Can you believe it's been an entire year already since this was released? I find myself singing along to the soundtrack almost too much, but can you really blame me? Frozen is perfect for this time of year and I can assure you it will be my go-to film this Christmas! 'Let it go, let it go...!'

2) Tangled

Another one of my favourites is the magical rendition of Rapunzel - Tangled. Growing up, I spent endless hours wishing my hair would gracefully tumble down my shoulders. I envied her lovely, long locks and hoped that one day a handsome, young man would swoop me off my feet, just like in the films - how naive!

3) Peter Pan

You can't forget about the good ol' Disney classics! Peter Pan was always a much-loved favourite of mine as a child. As a young girl, I was never a big fan of Disney princesses - a plate of biscuits and a bunch of pirates seemed to sort me out, (strange child, I know!) I loved the idea of never having to grow up, if only it were true!

4) Lady & the Tramp

Yet another classic Disney film - how could I possibly leave this one off the list? I've always had a soft spot for dogs and I love to curl up on the sofa with a romantic movie, dipping into a selection of chocolates. It's not surprising this heart-warming Disney film made it into my top 5.

5) Wreck It Ralph

From the moment I saw the trailer for Wreck It Ralph, I knew I just had to watch it. I managed to drag my entire family along with me to the cinema. I would honestly recommend to it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet - I was practically glued to the screen!

Let me know in the comments what your favourite Disney films are...

All Children, Except One, Grow Up!

Hey there!

It's that time of year again - time to get out those warm, fluffy jumpers, woolly socks, burning scented candles, drinking creamy hot chocolates. Time to say goodbye to those dusk evenings and long, summer days and welcome in the cool, moonlit nights and cosy snuggles by the fire, tucked up underneath a bunch of blankets.

It's safe to say this month for me started as a special one! For so long, I'd spent my whole time longing and dreaming for this moment - the transition from a passionate teen with big dreams to a young adult ready to embrace the real world and finally, last Friday was when all the celebrations began!

This year, I was lucky enough to celebrate this special occasion with all of my family and friends. Early morning snuggles with my boyfriend on this cold, autumnal day was definitely the best way to begin my 18TH, playing some old classics from my childhood CD's. Followed by a chilled evening at my favourite restaurant with my family, drinking my first legal alcoholic drink and munching on birthday cake. The following evening's celebrations, my boyfriend and I took a trip down to the local pub, because you can't celebrate your 18TH properly without a good few cocktails. It's safe to say that night will be a memory, never to be forgotten! So, to wrap up my busy weekend, I couldn't resist, but to spend my final birthday evening with a bunch of my close friends and a Chinese buffet - yummy!

Becoming an adult comes with adult responsibilities, stresses and a heavy workload! I'm now fully legal of age, responsible for my actions, that I can no longer blame on a younger sibling or pass onto another family member! I'll miss my childish sense of humour, the pranks I used to get away with and most of all, being able to borrow some small change from my parents or expecting to find my bedroom spotless! However, I'll no longer do I need to suffer the deep, penetrating fear of being sent away empty handed from shops with no proof of ID. No longer will I have to rely on my parents permission to go out for a good night!

But as the title of this post suggests, I am determined to be that exception - the girl who'll settle comfortably by the fire in her Bambi pyjama's, watching back-to-back Disney films, hoping for her fairytale to come true. Let's see how long this lasts for!

The Fairy Tale Tag!

Hey there!

Tags fly around the Internet all the time and it's just so tempting to take part in all of them. However, I don't intend to spam my blog with a ton of different tags, so I like to integrate them in, once in a while. This tag in particular caught my attention because like most girls, when I was younger I grew up devoting all my time into becoming a princess and creating the perfect fairy tale! Naturally, I couldn't resist taking part in this...

Snow White - Do you consider yourself beautiful?
I don't want to sound vain here, but sometimes before I go out I admire myself in the mirror and am pretty satisfied with my appearance. However, sometimes I feel the complete opposite and am extremely self-conscious, picking out the flaws in myself.

Sleeping Beauty - How many hours do you sleep at night?
Unfortunately, I find it extremely difficult to fall asleep at night, even when I so desperately want to. I always find myself constantly scrolling through Tumblr or Blogspot - reading new posts, checking stats and looking for inspiration. As much as I love my sleep, on average I only ever sleep 4/5 hours a night, with the exception of weekends.

Cinderella - Do you have a curfew?
It varies depending on who I'm with and where I'm going, but usually I have to be home for 9pm. I've never really been one to stay out too late anyway so don't fuss too much.

Rapunzel - Do you love being outside?
I love my freedom and hate being stuck inside on warm, sunny days so enjoy being outside, except when it's windy, wet and just generally dull. I enjoy the comfort of my own bedroom and often in the winter, I find myself making excuses not to go outside, just so I can snuggle in my duvet with a film and hot chocolate.

Red Riding Hood - Do you trust strangers easily?
Due to previous experiences and regular rumours, I have always had slight trust issues and find it hard to open up to people. Therefore, my friends whom I do confide in should feel extremely privileged. I have always been brought up to keep away from strangers, so naturally do not trust in them.

Beauty and the Beast - What makes someone beautiful in your eyes?
I am easily wooed if you have a charming smile, gorgeous eyes, a peachy bum, a sexy scent...However, I don't often consider appearance as a main priority. Just by being a genuine person, showing me their true colours and treating me with respect is enough for me!

The Little Mermaid - What would you sacrifice for love?
Personally, I don't think anything should be sacrificed for love. If the person truly accepts you for you, then there should be no need to change yourself and give up something, just to impress your partner.

Pinocchio - What is your biggest wish?
I've always dreamed of growing up, exploring the world and creating my own family. It would be an absolute dream to see some of the much talked about tourist sites, experiencing new cultures and having my own little miracle.

Gold Mary and Pitch Mary - Are you a hard worker or a lazy one?
I'd like to think that I'm a hard worker, especially when I'm pressured to do something or it's what I enjoy. I spend a lot of time and effort on making my blog and writing posts to perfection. However, everyone has their moments and especially when leading up to exams, I procrastinate a lot - too much infact!

The Princess and the Pea - Are you sensitive?
I'll admit, I worry way too much and over analyse things that don't really matter. I am extremely emotional and often take things to heart, even if I don't show it, and let things get to me. If it wasn't for my amazing friends and boyfriend, I don't know what I'd be up to!

The Twelve Dancing Princesses/The Worn-Out Dancing Shoes - Do you like parties?
Who doesn't like a good party?! My friends are often partying, with a gathering almost every month - sometimes just for the fun of it. I just love the atmosphere of everyone having a good time, spending a long evening with my favourite people and enjoying a good, few drinks!

I hope you had as much fun reading it, as I had writing it! I tag EVERYONE who reads this to join in and make a blog post of their own. Everyone who decides to participate, link below in the comments and I'll read and comment on every single one of them!
