#8 Blogmas - Christmas Wishlist

Hey there!

Christmas is definitely fast approaching us - my advent calendar is going down a treat! I've been extremely busy this weekend so haven't had a chance to post, (hence the missing date!)

As a child, I used to sit endlessly circling the Argos catalogue to start my Christmas wishlist, but as the years progressed, this slowly phased out. I've never really wanted anything in particular for Christmas, I'm easily pleased, but after reading through a number of Christmas wishlists, it inspired me to make my very own!

1) Marc Jacobs Perfume - Daisy Dream

At the top of my list is the gorgeous scented fragrance. I've read countless reviews on this stunning perfume and have been loving this scent for a while - everything a girl dreams of! It's just so flowery and perfect for a glamorous evening - even the bottle is absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to show this off to my friends and family - no doubt they'd be jealous!

2) Girl Online

For those of you that have been keeping up with my blog content, you will know that I absolutely idolise Zoe Sugg. I feel she's perfect for young girls to aspire to and it's incredible how far she's come, despite the little hiccups in her life! She's become an Internet sensation in the YouTube community and has a lot to be proud of. Therefore, it isn't surprising that 'Girl Online' is a close second on my wishlist. I think it would look perfect among my most-loved books!

3) Yankee Candle Winter Classic

Being a blogger leads to a full grown conclusion that we all love candles! Who can resist this wonderful set of gorgeous Christmas scented candles? I find it incredible how awesome these scents really are and picture how amazing that would be burning away in my bedroom on a cold, winter's evening. Definitely one of my favourites on my Christmas list - a girl can never have too many candles!

4) Body Shop Frosted Cranberry Hand Cream

During the winter months, I never seem to be able to avoid getting dry skin from the bitter, cold wind. I've always been a fan of the Body Shop and find myself spending hours browsing through their products, smelling the gorgeous fragrances. After scrolling through my favourite bloggers, I found this beauty and couldn't resist putting in on my wishlist. I've never been disappointed with any of their products, so I have high expectations for this one!

5) Christmas Pudding LUSH Bath Bomb

For those that follow my blog religiously, you will know that I have a huge obsession with LUSH. I've been to a number of blogging events and own a whole range of their products. My baths have never been the same without LUSH and I've never been disappointed yet! LUSH's christmas themed bath bombs never fail to get me in the festive mood. The Christmas pudding bath bomb at LUSH is my favourite go-to bath treat at Christmas, so it's not surprising that it features on my wishlist!

#6 Blogmas - When Do You Open Presents

Hey there!

Christmas Day has always been hugely celebrated in my family with Christmas traditions and festive films, trips to the church singing our most-loved hymns and stocking ourselves up with plenty of Christmas treats! Such a pleasant time of year to visit the whole family, sharing festive snacks and gifts together, despite the cold weather!

Living with a younger brother gives me a great excuse to embrace the child in me! We all make an effort to keep the magic alive - leaving an offering of milk, biscuits and a carrot on Christmas Eve. Finishing the evening with a Christmas film, hot chocolate, eagerly counting down the hours until CHRISTMAS - my favourite part!

#6 - When Do You Open Presents

Usually on Christmas morning, I am sprung upon by my brother at an unearthly hour, to wish me a merry Christmas - believe it or not, I actually enjoy being woken up like this! I love seeing the excitement on my brother's face, as he lunges onto me. We cautiously tip-toe downstairs, dragging our stockings behind us, trying our best not to wake Mum and Dad up.

Before opening our gifts, we always light our Christingles from the church service and place them on our window sill, to add an extra glow to the room! We all gather around the Christmas tree and take a family photo in our Christmas jumpers - a tradition I will never forget. A tub of Roses is passed around to munch on and then the fun begins! Everyone plunges straight into their sacks, head first to retrieve their presents. 2 hours later and we're stuffed full of chocolate, surrounded by endless piles of wrapping paper and ribbons!

#5 Blogmas - Favourite Christmas Food

Hey there!

Back again with yet another festive post - I know, I'm just as shocked as you are! I've been so productive recently and I'm really enjoying Blogmas this year. It's always fun to read my favourite bloggers winter posts too - really puts me in the festive mood!

No one likes to admit it, but there's no denying that festive food is one of the main reasons we all love Christmas! Diets and fitness workouts are soon forgotten once the M&S adverts appear on our screens, showing yummy treats that make your mouth water. You just simply can't resist those cheeky, festive treats - it's just not possible! Coming home from a frosty walk home to a frothy, hot chocolate and Christmas cookies. Walking around the Christmas markets with cups of mulled wine, nibbling on sweet, gingerbread men. No Christmas is complete without a huge tub of Roses to munch on, after stuffing yourself with a huge Christmas roast!

#5 - My Favourite Christmas Food

Christmas has always been very different in my house when it comes to my favourite family roast. Most supermarkets at this time are brimming with customers on their mad rush at Tesco's to buy the best freshly, cooked turkey - not me! Most people pile endless meats and hams on their dinner plates, but being a vegetarian Christmas dinner is very different for me. I was never fussed about pigs in blankets and never was a fan of those small frankfurter sausages.

My favourite Christmas food that just makes my mouth water are roast parsnips - strange I know! I just love the texture of the crispy skin combined with the light, fluffy inside. You can't miss out the seasoning - it's a must, I mean, doesn't that look yummy!

Let's not get carried away with the Christmas dinner, you can't forget about all the other treats that appear at Christmas! Candy canes are my all-time favourite sweet - always hung proudly upon my Christmas tree. I always love receiving candy canes at Christmas - I just love the fresh, peppermint flavour, so I always make sure I send them to my friends in their cards as a sweet treat. Gingerbread men are always fun to decorate on a cold, winter's night. I love to make these with my younger brother - spending quality time, wrapped up warm and toasty, feeling festive!

#4 Blogmas - Favourite Christmas Tunes

Hey there!

Ever stopped to realise what the world would be life if music never existed? Pretty damn boring - that's what! Christmas is never the same without those cheesy festive tunes that everyone loves. Shops everywhere are playing those well-known Christmas hits to pleasure the busy shoppers and I can't help, but dance along when gift hunting! Who can blame me when they're just so damn catchy?!

#4 My Favourite Christmas Tunes

Christmas tunes never fail to put me in the festive mood - I'm just so easily pleased! Music is what I live for, I have a playlist for absolutely everything ranging from the shower to brisk walks. Despite this, I am lacking in a festive playlist and I really struggled to narrow my top 5 down - I just love everything twinkly at Christmas!

Here are my top 5 most played Christmas tunes:

1) All I Want for Christmas is You

Judge me all you want, but I think tune is a hit - infact, I've been singing it all year! Mariah Carey has such a stunning voice and I can't help, but belt this song out in the shower. There's not a year that passes by when I'm not playing this beauty!

2) Santa Tell Me

A new appearance in the list is Ariana Grande's Christmas tune - such a catchy, little jingle! I couldn't stop myself from dancing to Ariana's gorgeous voice and the video is just incredible. If you haven't heard it already, I recommend you give it a good listen - you won't be disappointed!

3) Fairytale of New York

You can't have a Christmas playlist without the famous Pouges. Christmas just wouldn't be the same without it - infact, I'm almost certain it's my most played song! Such a classic tune that never fails to excite me for this festive season...

4) Merry Christmas Everyone

As a kid, this used to be my absolutely favourite tune at Christmas and to this day, it still is - I obviously had good taste. I can't help, but skip round my house singing this every day leading up to Christmas - sounds bizarre, but I love it!

5) Away in a Manger

Sounds strange to put a hymn into a Christmas playlist, but sometimes it's nice to reflect on the origin of Christmas, even if you're not a believer! As mentioned in my first ever Blogmas post, I like to attend Christingle church services with my family and it brings me warmth whenever I sing this delicate song!

#3 Blogmas - Favourite Christmas Films

Hey there!

After a hard day at work, there's nothing better than to run a warm, bubble bath, froth up a hot chocolate and snuggle on the sofa watching festive films with the family - the perfect way to welcome December, especially on a brisk, winter's night!

I've always been a huge fan of Christmas - in-fact, I absolutely love it! It's never too early to get wrapped up in the excitement to Christmas and the build-up to Christmas is always exciting with the Coca Cola and John Lewis adverts appearing on our screens. You know it's Christmas when the festive films are broadcasted everywhere! From Christmas classics that leave you in tears to those romantic love scenes under the mistletoe that make your hearts melt and those ones that have you in stitches - I love them all!

#3 My Favourite Christmas Films

Here are my Top 5 most-loved Christmas films:

1) Elf

No Christmas film list is complete without Elf! This modern day movie always has me in stitches, no matter how many times I watch it - all hail Will Ferrel, he's absolutely brilliant!

2) The Muppet's Christmas Carol

Christmas isn't the same without a trip down memory lane with a Muppet's Christmas Carol - the most-watched and fantasy-comedy film at Christmas! This jolly, heart-warming classic never fails t to put me in the festive mood. I can't help, but sing along to all the Christmas tunes

3) Arthur

It's not surprising that this film's appeared in my Top 5 - I love a good animated movie! Answering those all important questions for children at Christmas time and bringing back the magic to those who lost that spark growing up!

4) Nativity

Who doesn't love a film for all the family at Christmas? I was hooked by the trailers immediately, it wasn't surprising that I headed straight for the cinema. You'll instantly fall in love with the kids - I know I did! This film definitely puts a twist on the famous Bible story and will definitely give you the giggles!

5) The Grinch Who Stole Christmas

As a young girl, I was an avid bookworm and spent my childhood with my head in a book - no matter what time of day! Dr Seuss was a huge favourite of mine and this rendition of the Grinch is a classic film to watch at Christmas! Cyndey Lou reminds me of how innocent and naive I used to be and Jim Carey plays the Grinch to perfection. I can't ever fault this film!

#2 Blogmas - What Christmas Means to Me

Hey there!

Christmas is soon approaching us and the festive lights are slowly illuminating the streets, decorating the rooftops with Christmas cheer! People constantly bustling around the shops, armed with bags - the atmosphere buzzing with excitement! As a non-believer, I have very different opinions  about the meaning of Christmas compared to those with religious commitments. However, I respect their views and embrace their celebrations during this joyous occasion!

#2 What Christmas Means To Me

Read on to discover my ideas of what Christmas means to me:

amily

As mentioned in my previous post, I've always surrounded myself with family and close friends at Christmas. I treasure these moments dearly, as everyone gathers round together to share this festive celebration! Being a busy teenager with a heavy-load at work and a huge social life, I rarely have any spare time to share with my parents. Therefore, Christmas is the perfect time to spend quality time with your loved ones, embracing their company!

Food

No time to worry about food babies or growing a slight tummy over Christmas. How can you resist a steamy roast dinner on a day like this? My mum is the queen of the kitchen - hurrying around, knee deep in saucepans, preparing our delicious roast. Trust me, she cooks to perfection! It's almost impossible to watch a Christmas film without a tub of Roses resting on your lap. No stocking is complete without a candy cane hanging out the top  and you can't forget to decorate the Christmas tree with an endless supply of chocolate treats!

Giving

I love to spoil my family with an array of presents. There's no better feeling than to watch your loved ones slowly untie the ribbon and tear the wrapping paper open to reveal your gift - it's a warm glow I'll never forget!

#1 Blogmas - Favourite Christmas Tradition

Hey there!

I can't believe it's the 1st December already - how time flies! The countdown to Christmas begins, starting with a treat from my advent calendar. Still lacking on the Christmas presents, but that's no surprise - it happens every year! Last week, I challenged myself to Blogmas and today marks the beginning of a very busy, jolly month...

#1 My Favourite Christmas Tradition

For me, Christmas has always been about spending quality time with the family, singing carols until our hearts content and munching away on yummy treats without a care in the until you're about to explode. I, especially love the extra efforts that everybody makes to maintain the festive spirit, despite the fact the magic has vanished!

Growing up, I spent my Sunday mornings at the local children's club at my church - learning about the Bible stories and following Christianity. As a perk during the festive season, we celebrated Christmas with a Nativity play. I loved to show off and make my parents proud, so this was all very exciting! Every year I volunteered to play the part of Gabrielle - dressed from head to toe in a white bed sheet. I still remember the butterflies I had backstage before the performance, but I will never forget how important I felt to carry that gold star confidently through the congregation - embracing the attention!

Despite the fact I've grown too old to take part in this, my family still visit the local church to participate in the Christingle service and sing those typical festive hymns. I cherish these moments dearly, as we join hands and gaze at the dazzling Christmas tree. My favourite part of the service that always sparks my excitement at Christmas is when the lights are dimmed, the candles are lit and 'Silent Night' echoes throughout the church. What a great way to start Christmas!

What's your family tradition at Christmas?
